OOTD: Double Denim

I'm wearing:

River Island T-shirt
River Island Denim Jeggings
Topshop Denim Shirt
Primark Necklace
Converse

Just a casual outfit I wore to uni today. Had a 9am lecture (ughh) then I went to the library and now I'm back at home to do lots of dissertation work. Save me!

I never thought I'd do the double denim trend if you'd asked me a few years ago, but I love how it looks now. For me, I prefer wearing black and light blue denim together, and I prefer softer materials like jeggings. Both the t-shirt and jeggings are recent purchases, I don't shop at River Island much but these two items caught my eye, nice and comfortable for long days!

OOTD: Skulls

I'm wearing:

Forever 21 Cardigan
New Look Skull Vest
Topshop Jeggings
Primark Boots
Topshop Skull Necklace
ASOS Earrings
Topshop and Miss Selfridge Rings

Wore this to town yesterday to have a browse around the clothes shops. I always like to be comfy and warm when I'm shopping. Although jeggings haven't appeared too much on my blog yet, I do wear them alot - Probably too much! I also have this pair in grey from Topshop too. I just find them so much more comfortable than jeans!

Bought a few things from River Island and Primark whilst in town, might do a post on it next. Today is just a typical day for me lately, involving dissertation work. Panicking a bit because it's due in only two months! But I thought I deserved a little break, and I might go and play some sims now because I've become a bit addicted to it again. I need to get my hands on sims 3!

Also, I'm tempted to dye my hair, but I have no idea what colour to go. So give me your suggestions! I'm thinking either reddish-brown or a warm blonde (!). I had blonde hair up until I was about 5 years old, and I've had various shades of red before:

Review: Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector (BB Cream)

Today I'm going to be doing a review of Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector. It's usul price is £9.99, however I bought mine when it was on offer at Superdrug for £7.49, and mine is in the shade light.

On the Garnier website we are told:

"Feel the sensation of a light texture that instantly melts into your skin"

"The formula with mineral pigments gives an instantly 'perfect' skin. The result? Sheer coverage; imperfections look blurred; lines softened. Your skin looks luminous, smoother and more even."

The consistency is very much a combination between a liquid foundation and a moisturiser. I bought it in the hope that I would be able to wear it on days where I want something lighter than my usual foundation, and I hoped it would even out my skintone.

 With no make-up on.

With just the BB cream on.

With the rest of my make-up on.

Positives:

- In my opinion, it gives me pretty much the same coverage as my usual Rimmel foundation, which is great!

- I do think it evens out my skintone too.

- It sinks into my skin quickly. It doesn't make my face feel shiny or greasy.

- A little definitely goes a long way.

Negatives:

- This 'light' shade is slightly too dark for me, but that doesn't bother me too much. Most 'light' or 'ivory' shades tend to be! I don't think they have a lighter shade, so if you're paler than me this might not be the product for you!

- I don't think it lasts as long as foundation. But it would be easy to reapply throughout the day.

- It can be a bit drying seeing as I have dry skin, so I definitely have to wear moisturiser underneath.

Hope this review was helpful to some of you! Are you tempted to buy it now? Let me know your opinions if you've used it!

OOTD: Monochrome

(Sorry about the mess in the background!)

I'm wearing:

Topshop Jumper
Primark Jeans
Primark Scarf
Converse
Primark Belt
Urban Outfitters Necklace (Shame it doesn't work anymore!)
Topshop Rings

Eyes: Sleek Storm Palette

Lips: MUA Lipstick Shade 1 (Review here)

I think my wardrobe is slowly becoming just Primark and Topshop, oh dear! Wore this outfit to uni yesterday and I really liked it. It's quite a simple outfit, but I think the scarf and the red lips make it more interesting.

I'm not feeling too well today so just staying in. I'm meant to be doing lots of uni work. I've reached that stage where I've began to panic that I'm in my third year, and I feel really far behind. But I keep getting distracted by watching London Fashion Week ahh!

OOTD: Stripes and Denim

I'm wearing:

Topshop Denim Shirt
H&M Top
Topshop Dress (Worn as Skirt)
Primark Brogues
Topshop Necklace
Miss Selfridge and H&M rings
(and the ring on the right is one I wear everyday from by boyfriend)

I'm shattered already today and it's ony 2pm! I did some volunteering this morning at uni, setting up for an older people's tea party. And then I had a seminar, and now I'm home to do lots of uni work (well that's the plan!)

Me and my boyfriend didn't do much for Valentines Day, it's our fourth one! Just had an indoor picnic and swapped presents. He knows me so well, he bought me a cross ring from Topshop, a Sleek eyeshadow palette and two books (The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest).

What's in my Make-Up Bag?

The title basically speaks for itself. This isn't all my make-up, just what I reach for every morning. The bag is from TKMaxx. Hope you enjoy this post!

Garnier BB cream: I need to use this more. It's nice to have an alternative to wearing foundation. It's basically a tinted moisturiser and it gives pretty good coverage and evens out my skintone. My only problem is that it's designed for all skin types, and I have quite dry skin, so I do find this a bit drying. Hopefully I'll use it more when the weather's not so cold!

Garnier Eye Roll on: I've used this everyday since buying it about a month ago. I think it makes a difference. I have quite dark under eye circles, so I'm always looking for something to hide them.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation: I wear this everyday (except when I wear the BB cream). I love it and have purchased it repeatedly. I can't say if it lasts 25 hours seeing as I haven't worn it that long! But it does last all day and gives good medium coverage.

Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Mascara: I've only tried this a few times so far, so I can't give much of a review. I like the effect, it does make my eyelashes look thicker. The brush is quite big, which makes it a little difficult getting into the inner lashes.
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Mascara: This is another item I've purchased again and again. I'm a fan of lots of Maybelline mascara's, but this is definitely my favourite. I have quite long, curled eyelashes naturally, but this definitely enhances them and gives them volume without clumping.
(sorry for the rubbish photo)

Rimmel Concealer: Another frequently purchased item. Don't really have much to say about this, it does what any concealer does really!

Maybelline Concealer: I only use this when I need extra coverage on a spot and I use it over the rimmel concealer. Once again, it works fine!

Sleek Face Contour Kit: This is a fairly new purchase, not sure if I've quite got the knack of contouring just yet, but my boyfriend says he notices when I use it and he likes it.

Rimmel Match Perfection Face Powder: This is my second purchase. It's a great powder which I use on top of my foundation to set it in place and to ensure my face isn't shiny.

Carmex Lipbalm: I love the cherry smell of this. I wouldn't say it's overly moisturising, but it does have spf15 in which is always good!

Vaseline: I think pretty much every girl has this in their make-up bag.
Rimmel Eyeshadow Quad: A recent purchase, but I like the colours, great for a daytime look.

MAC Eyeshadow (Shroom): This is my first and only MAC eyeshadow. They're just so pricey but I love them. I treated myself to it last summer after I finished my exams and I'm glad I did. It's a great neutral colour and I wear it so much, at least 3 times a week, and there's still loads left. I definitely want to build up my collection, just need a good reason to treat myself!

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner: I haven't used this for a while, but I do prefer it over most liquid eyeliners. It comes with a brush, stays on for ages and has great consistency.

Collection 2000 Pencil Eyeliner: I don't use pencil eyeliner very much, but this is in my bag just in case. Not much to say, it's just an average pencil eyeliner.

Collection 2000 Extreme Eyeliner: This is definitely my favourite eyeliner. It's just like a felt-tip, which makes application really easy. And considering it's only £2.99, the consistency is great. I'd recommend everyone to buy it!

OOTD: Fairisle Print and Layers

I'm wearing:

USC Jumper
Primark Sheer Shirt
H&M Vest
River Island Leggings
Primark Boots

Wore this outfit recently to go to the cinema. I don't really like taking photos indoors, but it was much too dark outside. It was cold out, and I always seem to get cold sat in the cinema anyways, so I made sure I layered up. Not sure I really like the outcome, but at least I tried wearing something different, and it kept me warm!
